Rise and Shine

My day as a Thompson Plumbing, Heating & AC technician starts bright and early at 6:30 AM. After a quick breakfast and coffee, I’m out the door by 7:15, ready to tackle whatever HVAC challenges await me in Petersburg, Dundee, and the surrounding areas.

First Call: AC Repair in Ida

My first stop is a residential call in Ida, MI. The homeowner reported their air conditioner blowing warm air. After a thorough inspection, I discover a refrigerant leak. I explain the situation to the customer, get their approval, and proceed to repair the leak and recharge the system.

Midday: Air Conditioning Installation in Britton

Next, I head to Britton for a scheduled AC installation. Working with a fellow Thompson technician, we remove the old unit and install a new, energy-efficient system. We take care to ensure everything is properly connected and functioning before walking the homeowner through the new thermostat controls.

Afternoon: HVAC Maintenance in Ottawa Lake

After lunch, I drive to Ottawa Lake for routine HVAC maintenance at a local business. This involves:

• Cleaning or replacing air filters
• Checking refrigerant levels
• Inspecting electrical connections
• Lubricating moving parts
• Testing overall system performance

Evening: Emergency Call in Lambertville

Just as I’m wrapping up for the day, I receive an emergency call from Lambertville. A family’s air conditioner has completely stopped working during a heatwave. I quickly diagnose a failed capacitor, replace it, and get their system running again, much to their relief.
